At SleepOnIt.ai, your privacy is foundational — not an afterthought. Your thoughts are personal, and we built every layer of this product to keep them that way.

1. Information We Collect: We collect the thoughts, voice notes, and images you capture through the app. We also collect basic account information (email, display name) and usage data such as subscription tier, processing history, and feature interactions.

2. How We Use Your Data: Your captured thoughts are processed by our Overnight Processing Engine to generate personalized morning plans, research summaries, and actionable steps. Image uploads are analyzed to extract relevant context. We use aggregated, anonymized usage metrics to improve the service.

3. End-to-End Encryption: Your personal thoughts and brain dumps are end-to-end encrypted at rest and in transit. We treat your inner world as private by default.

4. No Model Training on Your Data: We do not use your personal thought data to train general-purpose AI models. Your inputs are processed solely to deliver your plans and are never shared with third parties for model improvement.

5. Third-Party Services: We use trusted infrastructure providers (AWS) for hosting, storage, and AI processing. When you enable web research or premium Skill Buckets, anonymized queries may be sent to external search and data APIs to gather results on your behalf. These queries do not contain your raw thoughts.

6. Image & Media Handling: Uploaded images are stored securely and analyzed to extract text and context. Images are retained according to your subscription tier's history limits and are permanently deleted upon account closure or expiration of the retention window.

7. Data Retention: Your thought history and plans are retained based on your subscription tier: 7 days (Free), 30 days (Starter), 1 year (Pro), or 10 years (Premium). You may delete individual thoughts or your entire account at any time.

8. Account Deletion: You can request full account deletion from within the app. Upon deletion, all personal data — including thoughts, plans, images, and account information — is permanently removed within 30 days.

9. Cookies & Analytics: Our marketing website uses minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand traffic patterns. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. The app itself does not use cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy: We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email. Your continued use of SleepOnIt.ai after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
